Sharon Hardie

Former U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Sharon Hardie is the Head of Government Relations for Booz Allen where she develops and leads engagement and advocacy strategies on behalf of the company with Congress, the White House, the Executive Branch, trade associations, and think tanks. She anticipates, identifies, and addresses policy, regulatory and legislative issues of impact to the company to create a better business environment.  The first lobbyist hired at the company in the new Government Relations function, Sharon created a sophisticated and innovative organization to include establishing and growing the company’s Political Action Committee (PAC) where she serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

 

An expert in the legislative process, public policy and strategic communications, Sharon has over 25 years of experience focused on aerospace and defense, national security, and information and emerging technology.  A strategic, effective communicator, she translates business objectives into achievable advocacy campaigns.  Prior to joining Booz Allen, Sharon served in key government relations leadership roles at Battelle, BAE Systems, and General Dynamics. Sharon previously served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Defense Intelligence Agency and as Chief of Staff for the Department of Homeland Security National Protection and Programs Directorate which oversaw the department’s cybersecurity and infrastructure protection divisions (now CISA). Prior to her federal government experience, Sharon served as an Associate to the House Rules Committee and as a Senior Policy Analyst to the New York Governor’s Washington, DC office.  Sharon has been named one of Washington, DC’s top lobbyists by The Hill (2020-2023).

 

Sharon serves on the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Board of Governors and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Board of Directors. She previously served as a board member in Alexandria, Virginia nonprofit organizations to include the Friends of the Guest House. She is a graduate of Niagara University and holds a B.A. in Political Science.
