WASHINGTON – Council on National Security and Immigration (CNSI) leader Scott Boylan today released a statement urging the Trump Administration to reaffirm its commitment to the Uniting for Ukraine program, which provides temporary legal status to approximately 240,000 Ukrainians who fled Russia’s ongoing war.
“The Uniting for Ukraine program has provided critical protections for thousands of Ukrainians who sought safety in the United States,” said Scott Boylan. “Since their arrival, these individuals have become part of our communities, contributed to our economy, and rebuilt their lives while their homeland remains at war. The United States has a proud tradition of standing with those fleeing war and persecution, and we must uphold that commitment.
“The Administration should ensure continued support for Ukrainians who cannot safely return home. Providing stability to those affected by conflict is both a humanitarian imperative and a reaffirmation of America’s leadership in defending freedom and security worldwide. At a time when global stability is at stake, reaffirming our commitment to the Uniting for Ukraine program reflects both our values and our national security interests. I urge the administration to maintain this program and explore ways to provide ongoing protections for those in need."
